Weapons Banned in Modern Warfare
These weapons are so devastating that they have been completely banned from use in modern warfare.
All chemical and biological weapons are banned in all shapes, sizes, and forms. Due to their complete indiscriminate use, it is no wonder these are not allowed. A less common, completely taboo weapon is poisoned bullets. Back in the day, dipping arrows and eventually bullets in various poisons or disease-ridden corpses was practiced. Thankfully, this tactic is no longer allowed.
Another completely banned weapon due to its indiscriminate nature is cluster munitions. When these bombs explode, they can release dozens or hundreds of dumb munitions that are untraceable and can plague an area for decades after the conflict.
The last weapon to be banned entirely are weapons that use non-metal fragmentation as a primary injuring agent. The most famous example of these would be the German shoe mines in World War Two that were made from wood. Wood and plastic fragments cannot be found with an x-ray, and because of this, the chance of survival for someone wounded by this device is significantly reduced.
