Huge Deliveries, Concrete Vaults, Roof Solar & HVAC Changes. 6 Aug 2025 Giga Texas Update (07:55AM)

Gigafactory Texas! This is where Model Y’s, and Cyber Truck production happens and in 2025, the Next Generation Car(s), Cybercab & the Optimus Robot!

Great day to fly around Giga Texas and activity levels for both production and construction were high, so there is a lot other see and cover today!

The biggest news might be the steady arrival of production line equipment on the southwest staging yards, while some of this equipment is being moved to and then inside the main factory for assembly. This is happening on both the east and west sides of the main factory in the 3rd and 4th floor mezzanines recently added to increase overall production capabilities.

I also noted trucks arriving today with a lot of old aluminum wheels destined for the melt center which is part of the casting and aluminum furnace section of the main factory. This is part of the source stock used to make the aluminum alloys needed for the castings in the Model Ys, Cybertrucks and the Cybercabs.

There is a lot of work happening at the electrical switchyard today, including Megapack #2 cable installation and work on some transformers, the underground vault connection tunnel that will electrically join both the old and the new underground concrete vaults together, fill dirt arraign to begin burying the new vault, while forms and plywood are being add to the top of the new vault in preparation for a concrete pour to form the roof.

Nearby, grade work, top fill dirt & other preparations are underway on the graded section that will be the extension of the switchyard, doubling to overall installed capacity for power delivery to the factory and to support both Cortex 1 and Cortex 2 along with the larger overall site & support facilities.

West berm and south edge of River Road trenching, trench boxes and pipe installation today, with a lot of progress along the west berm. Deep trenches on the south side of River Road shows we will likely see more trench boxes used to install large pipes long this south section of the site.

Nearby, the fork statue shows trenching to and around the base of the fork, with visible conduit in one trench, likely showing where this will have connections made.

On the roof, we see more work has been completed laying out solar panel UniRac mounts in what appears to be a giant underscore of the "TESLA" letters already installed. Also, over the Body-in-White section, 9 huge cooling enclosures are being assembled and these are very close to the existing smaller enclosures. There is a related permit for this work filed with the City of Austin and it is to add additional HVAC capacity to this par to the factory.
