The Lost Debit Card Saga: Part 1 -- Nusa Lembongan, Bali, Indonesia // 200

My primary credit card was deactivated for fraudulent use, and I lost my debit card somewhere in Bali. My secondary credit card works fine, but has extra international fees on top of the 3% fee most places charge for credit purchases.

Without my ATM card, I cannot withdraw cash, which means I can only use my secondary credit card while I wait (and wait, and wait) for my debit card to arrive from my bank in the US.

Losing your debit card while traveling is a headache, but it's not the end of the world. If you have a credit card (or 2), you'll be find. You can find somewhere to eat, and you can find a guesthouse or hotel (albeit, probably a pricey one) that will take credit. Also, if you have cash from a different country, you can always exchange that for local currency as well.
