What makes countertenors special?

He loves the high notes. Nils Wanderer, born in Ludgwigsburg in 1993, studied voice at the University of Music Franz Liszt in Weimar and at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. He won the first prize at the Bundeswettbewerb Gesang 2022 (national German competition for solo singing) and came in second at Plácido Domingo's singing competition Operalia 2022 - the first German and only countertenor to do so. Today, Nils Wanderer already sings grand arias in famous opera houses and at well-known festivals. He also performs song recitals and concerts. Apart from working as a opera singer, Nils also works as actor, choreographer and director for opera and theatre.
