CCS is Dead. Legacy OEM's are going for NACS (Tesla) plug. Ford and GM need Supercharger network.

The time has come. Legacy car makers are realizing the missed the train on charging. Ford and GM are working with Tesla now and are switching their electric cars over to the NACS, the Tesla charging plug. This will allow Ford and GM owners to access the Tesla Supercharger network. Both Jim Farley, CEO of Ford, and Marry Barra, CEO of GM agree that they need a reliable and simple to use charging network that can integrate with their apps. This is pretty much a death sentence for the Type1 CCS plug in North America. Tesla, Ford and GM together have so many EV's on the road that charging networks will have to switch to NACS too in order to get any business or they may go out of business and Tesla will take over.
Similar things have happened throughout history. You may remember Betamax and VHS!? Yes there were such things called video cassettes way before DVR. Same thing there, two standards in use, both good and working but only VHS survived. In a similar way the North American Charging Standard will be the surviver. Not only Ford and GM are going NACS. Aptera the solar EV already has said a long time ago they will use NACS.
