[voice over] Your instrument cluster display, or ICD, provides important information about systems and features. It also lets you customize a range of preferences.
Use the steering wheel controls to browse the menus and submenus. Push the up and down arrow buttons to scroll. Push the OK button to access or select the information or submenu screens of a main menu item. Push and hold the OK button for one second to reset the displayed feature. Push the left arrow button to return to the main menu, and the right arrow button to access information screens and submenus.
Push the Menu button to display the Home Screen and to access information screens or submenus. From here, you can push and hold the OK button to enter edit mode.
Available Home Screen selections include:
- Vehicle Info,
- Drive Menu,
- Audio Info,
- And, if equipped, Trailer Tow, Navigation, and more.
You can customize the layout by going to the Settings Menu and pressing OK. From there, you can choose what information is displayed in the upper left and upper right sections of the screen. Choose between different themes, and show or hide items individually.
[Text on screen] This system is an alert system for the front of the vehicle. It is not a substitute for active driver involvement. The driver must remain aware of traffic conditions and be prepared to use brakes to avoid collisions.
[voice over] If equipped, the Night Vision with Pedestrian and Animal Detection system uses an infrared camera to detect people and large animals in front of your vehicle when it’s dark outside. The system measures temperature differences between objects and the surrounding area. Warm objects – like animals – appear lighter on the display, and cold objects – such as traffic signs – appear darker. A yellow or red border and box highlight will appear around objects of interest, and more than one object may be highlighted.
The infrared display can be exited or viewed by making the appropriate selection in the ICD menu, and warnings can be turned on or off in the Uconnect system. Use the dimmer control to adjust image brightness.
When it’s time to change the oil, you’ll hear a chime and the Oil Change Required message will appear briefly in the instrument cluster. The system is duty-cycle based, so the oil change interval may fluctuate according to your driving style. Until it is reset, the oil change message will continue to appear every time you turn on the ignition.
To reset the system after scheduled maintenance, put the vehicle in Park.
With your foot off the brake, push the Engine Start/Stop button. The ignition will enter the On/Run position. Don’t actually start the engine, though. Now, use the steering wheel arrow controls to find the Oil Life submenu in the Vehicle Info section of your ICD. Then, push and hold the OK button until the gauge resets to 100%.
