Colin Dowler, a bold adventurer from Vancouver, ventured to summit Mount Doogie on his 45th birthday armed with his equipment and a three-inch pocket knife gifted by his father. While exploring the mountain, a male grizzly bear approached him out of curiosity and attacked despite his attempts to calm the animal. Despite using his hiking pole to defend himself, the bear bit Colin on his abdomen and back, dragging him to the roadside ditch for further assault. Colin fought back with his pocket knife, stabbing the bear repeatedly until it fled.

Though he sustained severe injuries, Colin emerged victorious from the encounter, a testament to his unyielding bravery. Rushed to the hospital, he underwent extensive surgery to treat his wounds.
