"Washed Up" ART PROJECT from trash in Sian Ka’an, Mexico

Sian Ka’an is one of the most popular nature reserves, which has a unique tropical climate and weather conditions.

Even though this heavenly place in Mexico is protected by the UNESCO, it is heavily influenced by the global pollution and Alejandro Duran proves that with his art installations.

Alejandro Duran, artist, who spends most of his time working in Brooklyn, NY, is popular for his "Washed Up" art projects. When, he is at Sian Ka’an, he uses art to draw to the attention to the global pollution problem - Alejandro collects all the garbage that is being washed up to the shores of Mexico’s Carribean coastline. So far his installations contain garbage from 50 nations on 6 continents that is tastefully arranged on the territory of Sian Ka’an.
