Book benches – ART PROJECT for a charitable cause

In 2014 the people of London and visitors of the capital have witnessed a very unusual but important art installation - 50 brightly colored book-shaped benches were scattered across the city.

The people standing behind such creative art project are the art impresarios Wild in Art and the representatives of the National Literacy Trust.

The art enthusiasts worked hard on creating themed benches, each one with a different illustration of the stories behind classic of London literature pieces. The money collected from the auction of these benches, 250,000 GBP to be exact, is given to the National Literacy Trust.

This amount of money will be enough to create a campaign, aimed at the improvement of literacy in the UK in modern challenging economic times.
