Water vole displacement - narrated - stage 1 of displacement complete.
A quick run through of a scheme where a pipe was being installed below the bed of a watercourse. Displacement was carried out and bare earth achieved on both sides of the watercourse. This was achieved with some long reach excavators. As part of this, there was some in channel vegetation that was placed on the top of the bank. This was left in situ for a day or two so that any wildlife could return to the channel. This was then hecked for amphibians (yes that includes frogs :-) ) and removed and stored about 5 metres from the top bank of the watercourse.
