Water vole displacement - Norfolk Broads - mitigation and compensation. Vegetation clearance.

This length of channel is used seasonally by water vole -!; prior to vegetation clearance only burrows were recorded. Following destructive searches of the burrows the channel will be deported and widened to create a shelf. The shelf or berm will be created just above the water level and common reed and sedge will be placed on it. This material will be “won” from other areas on the site where displacement is required. On completion of the job there will be a net gain of suitable water vole habitat.
