Piers Morgan quits Good Morning Britain after backlash over Meghan comments
Television personality Piers Morgan has quit his role as host of popular British breakfast program Good Morning Britain after controversial comments he made about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
Mr Morgan, a constant critic of Meghan, said on Monday's program he “didn't believe” her claims about being suicidal, leading to a heated debate between hosts before he stormed off set.
The broadcasters remarks sparked 41,000 complaints to ITV which are now being investigated.
ITV released a statement a short time ago saying "following discussions with ITV Piers Morgan has decided now is the time to leave Good Morning Britain. ITV has accepted the decision and has nothing further to add”.
