Could Your Fitness Save You in a Crisis?

Most of us are as fit as we ever need to be for our day-to-day lives. But the real test of fitness comes when you least expect it: can you outrun danger? Can you carry your own weight? Or another person's? Can you swim, climb, and jump? Can you stay calm in the face of danger? This is another interpretation of functional fitness and it's one I find really interesting.
Georges Herbert discussed the notion of being "Strong to be useful." Many of us would like to think our training would be enough in an emergency, and yet we often don't train in a way that is genuinely practical. Why be able to squat hundreds of pounds if you can't jump over a small ditch, or climb the stairs without getting out of breath?
This video presents some tests of fitness and functionality. There are as many cognitive traits listed here as there are physical, as I believe abilities such as staying calm are actually more important. I got the term "SuperLearner" from Alynna Kayslanco, by the way!
Hopefully, we'll never find ourselves in situations where these skills are necessary. But as a thought experiment, they provide a useful window into just how "useful" certain types of training might be. This can, in turn, help us to approach functional training in a meaningful way.
I'd love to know your thoughts on this guys: are there any important traits I missed? Is this something that matters to you? What do you think are the best ways to train for a crisis?
Thanks as always, and enjoy!
