The great tenor Karl Friedrich sings the closing scene from Die tote Stadt, from the historic 1952 broadcast of the opera. Benno Kusche can be heard briefly as Frank, with the Bavarian Radio Orchestra conducted by Fritz Lehmann. Wonderful head tones and an utterly fearless top Bb make this a performance to treasure.
