The Black Asphalt of Tesla Giga Texas and The Company Moving It

First we have a very high quality drone video from our friend Brian Roschetzky which shows trucks constantly going in and out at Giga Texas. They are moving extremely fast and Bryan sayd it's good because this will cut the waiting time for the arrival of the Cybertruck.

The second video of Tesla Giga Texas is from our another friend Joe Tegtmeyer and here is what Joe told me.

Attached is a link to my 29 July update video from today … a lot of interesting developments in the video and what I can share. First off, it was a windy day so getting drone video was a little challenging, but I think came out really well. There is a lot more land clearing that has been done and a new “asphalt” or another black surface large “pad” near where the central pond used to be (which is almost completely gone now). Joe says it’s not a real asphalt. Instead, it’s a fabric membrane to help settle the new dirt and control moisture. Also, this site is under the Class C airspace of Austin International Airport so anyone wanting to fly a drone will need prior authorization to fly here (I already have it).

It looks like they will need to bring in a lot more dirt to finish removing the pond, but they have drained most of the water, and its amazing how quickly they are going. There is a new development in the tree and “swamp” area to the north as well as it appears that trees are being removed and they are preparing to drain the water and fill with land … many machines and earthmovers were operating in this area today.

Finally, I took a closeup of one of the water storage tanks and found out that the excavation company is Ranger Excavating, LLC, which on their website they say

“Founded in 1984, RANGER Excavating has become the largest and most sophisticated earthwork contractor in Texas and one of the largest in the southern United States.” They have the most modern equipment fleet in Texas and is the only logical choice for the largest and most complex projects.

Other projects that they have completed include “Circuit of the Americas - Austin – built in November 2012. RANGER performed approximately 4,100,000 CY cut and fill on site and imported 940,000 CY of select fill for use under the track. The track earthwork was completed to an exacting spec due to zero tolerance for differential movement. The track is now recognized as one of the best in the world and just held its second Formula 1 United States Grand Prix.”

“Amazon – Schertz, Texas in November 2012. The 1,650,000 SF building pad was the critical path on this project. It consisted of 540,000 CY of undercut and moisture-conditioned fill and a 75,000 CY crushed limestone cap. RANGER beat every milestone for the phased turnover of the building pad by several weeks. Total onsite cut and fill was 785,000 CY.”
