DELICIOUS Prosciutto Mozza Rollups | Easy Bake at Home!

Nonna shows off her supreme dough making skills as she wraps up the most exquisite combination of ingredients in breaded clouds of heaven creating prosciutto mozza rollups 😋. These delectable snacks are made from scratch and baked to amazing melty perfection. Change-up the ingredients and come up with your own version, learning specific techniques from the Italian dough master herself, Nonna Teresa.

INGREDIENTS
Milk - 14 ounce, lukewarm
Yeast - 1 tablespoon
Sugar - 2 teaspoons
Salt - 1 teaspoon
Canoloa Oil - 3.5 ounces
Egg - 1 egg-white for the dough, save the yolk for later to glaze the rollups before baking
Flour - 4.5 cups
Prosciutto Cotto (or another choice of deli meat) - 400 grams, chopped
Mozzarella Cheese - 20 pieces, package of 340 grams
DIRECTIONS

DOUGH PREP
In large bowl with a whisk, mix the milk, yeast, sugar, salt, oil and 1 egg-white until well combined, then start adding in the flour a little at a time until consumed.
TIP - whisking will get difficult so using a spatula is a good idea, just like Nonna.
Work the dough in the bowl For about a minute.
Cover the dough and place it in a warm place to rise for 1 hour.

BUILD THE ROLLUPS
Once the dough has risen, place it on floured counter and work it by hand a little forming a long round log.
Cut the formed dough log into 10 - 12 pieces
Shape the pieces Into balls; check out Nonna’s technique.
Flatten the balls into a square and place the meat filling inside and 2 pieces of mozzarella, roll them and seal them on each side.
Place the rolls in a 10x15 pot Lined with parchment paper.
Brush each rollup with the remaining egg yolk (beat it prior).
Top with sesame seeds/poppy seeds (optional).
Cover the rollups with a sheet of parchment paper and let them sit in a warm place for an hour or so to rise, until doubled the size.

BAKE TO PERFECTION
Bake at 350º for 35 minutes.
