How to Build a Linear PVC Ram Pump!

A lot of people have asked for instructions on how to build my Linear Ram Pump - I put up a PowerPoint on Dropbox but it quickly overwhelmed the bandwidth allowed, so here is a video of the steps to build one. It's a sequence of photos with text that I made from the PowerPoint and includes extra details and suggestions. If you have questions please feel free to ask in the comments or by private message.

This pump was developed in the early 1990's for a specific situation where we had a small 3' dam across a creek and up to 3 ram pumps running in the stream-bed below it. The creek often flooded, though, and brought tree trunks and stuff down that would break off any vertical air chambers and flooded any snifter valves. So this linear low-profile design with air bladder came out of that.

The pump is light, portable, cheap, easy to build and maintain using basic materials, and works well even when put up against commercial plastic ram pumps (done that!).
