Stirling engine with epoxy piston, flashlight cylinder

I built this engine years ago using a free sample glass cylinder with matched graphite piston and it worked well. However, I recently decided to try making my own piston and cylinder and this video shows the result.
I used a typical 5-LED flashlight that Harbor Freight often gives away (I have a bunch of them) and disassembled it to use as a cylinder. Then I used some Quiksteel 5-min. epoxy (by Blue Magic, rated for 500 deg. F) to form a piston, pushing a chunk of it into the cylinder which I had sprayed with a bit of WD-40 as a release agent. I pushed it hard with a close-fitting stick. It came out pretty easily and then I cut the lower step in the piston to reduce dead volume, and screwed an eye-screw into the piston for the connecting rod to mount to.
The side-drive displacer design allows for complete sealing where it enters the cylinder, and eliminates a sliding shaft and thus lowers friction.
Hope this stimulates some new design ideas out there!
