Oroville Dam Spillway Evacuation Feedback Session
March 14, 2017, Sutter County Veteran's Center, Yuba City, CA, regarding the February 12, 2017 evacuation after emergency managers were notified by state officials that the emergency spillway at Oroville Dam would collapse within 60 minutes, unleashing water at the rate of 500,000 to 700,000 cubic feet per second into a river channel than can handle 150,000 cfs safely. Some 300 people attended the gathering, designed to collect information about the experiences of residents so that local government agencies can better prepare for such an emergency. Residents who did not attend the meeting can still provide feedback by emailing evacfeedback@co.sutter.ca.us
