Drone footage of emergency levee work at Yuba City

The Sutter Butte Flood Control Agency is pleased to report that the Emergency Repairs on nearly three miles of levee in Yuba City is progressing as planned. They have been working three “headings” (three slurry wall machines), with work between the 5th and 10th Street Bridges complete. The remainder of the slurry wall installation is almost complete, and will be followed by a 21-day settlement period. Levee reconstruction will begin as soon as the settlement period closes. Yuba City Councilman and SBFCA Board Member John Buckland flew his personal drone over the project area to capture video on two separate occasions: August 11 as the project started, and most recently on September 8. The latest footage captures the slurry wall machines at work and offers a fascinating (and rare) view of the project. The videos are featured on SBFCA’s website under the “Construction” tab.
