Join me for virtual run Melbourne 10K Australia for 53 minutes on a spring afternoon. A scenic riverside run through the heart of Melbourne by the river, parklands, sports precinct and finally into the city itself.

Welcome back to Treadmill Pack for the channel’s loyal subscribers. If this is your first visit; welcome, stay and cardio train while taking a mini holiday.

The Run Down:
Join me at Federation Wharf by the Yarra River, Melbourne. We'll proceed south (downstream) along the riverside pathways towards South Wharf and cross the river at Webb Bridge. We’ll head upstream passing Southbank, Alexandra Garden and join the Main Yarra Trail to Morell Bridge and return to the CBD. We’ll then head through Federation Square and north on Swanton Street into the city. We’ll then run Swanton Street again for a few minutes at night so you can compare.

The 'Tan'
Regarded as Melbourne's most popular running route. The 3.827km Tan is suitable for runners of all abilities with a gravel track except for the bitumen footpath along Anderson Street. It is only minutes from the CBD with lighting for evening running. The current records are;
Craig Mottram in 2006 - 10:08 min
Genevieve Gregson in 2020 - 11:57 min.
Gregson broke the previous record set by Sarah Jamieson in 2005 the day after the Olympic team was advised the Tokyo Games were postponed. https://www.onlymelbourne.com.au/tan-track

Alternative Training Methods
1. Run naked! Cover all over your data and ‘run by feel’.
2. Complete the run in your own time depending on your fitness and personal abilities
3. Set your goal pace and race me home (10.4 km / 6.5 miles).
4. Complete an EASY or RECOVERY pace.
5. TEMPO #2 (10:2:10) 5:00 min warm up, , 5:00min BASE PACE , 3 * 10:00min TEMPO, 2:00min REST /EASY between, 9:00min Cool down.

Join us on your treadmill, stationary bicycle, stair climber, elliptical rider or even your home fitness circuit.

I train with these videos on my treadmill and elliptical machine in my garage, that is why I make them. I’ve been a runner for most of my 50 odd years. I’m carrying a few injuries but I’m still going!
