1000 LONDONERS
This film is part of 1000 Londoners, a five-year digital project which aims to create a digital portrait of a city through 1000 of the people who identify themselves with it. The profile contains a 3 minute film that gives an insight into the life of the Londoner, as well as their personal photos of London and some answers to crucial questions about their views on London life. Over the course of the project we aim to reveal as many facets of the capital as possible, seeing city life from 1000 points of view.

TRANSCRIPT
Despite the fact that I've been designing jewellery for 26 years now, it's taken me a long time really to think of myself as a designer.
I'm often asked why I wanted to start again and, you know, go back into the jewellery business. I mean I, to be honest I thought, when we sold Links of London, that I would go and be the perfect mother, go and look after my children. And I tried that. And I think both my children and I felt that that wasn't absolutely gonna work.
Being a woman designing jewellery definitely has an impact, because I understand the way predominantly I want to wear jewellery. There's so few rules about how you wear your clothes and increasingly there's so few rules about how you wear your jewellery.
I'm an only child, I was predominantly brought up by my mother so I was incredibly close to my mother. She was an absolutely amazing, wonderful, wonderful woman. But, I don't think there was any middle ground, I suspect she was Marmite. She was certainly, you know… You either loved her or you thought she was a nightmare. She was a force to be reckoned with. And there's no doubt that, despite the fact that she died twenty five years ago, still to this day there isn't a day when I don't wake up and think: what would mum say about that?
I absolutely love what I do. I do think I've got one of the best jobs there is. So, you know, sometimes it'll be excited about going to design something, 'cause I've had an absolute inspiration in the middle of the night. Or it might be about talking to my team about how we're going to present something or market something. Every day is different.
