1973 BRI Crews' Get Well Card - Lancaster, Texas

We were four close friends that loved to watch and ride trains. We called ourselves "The Texas Tramps." We were the stuff of legend, or at least we thought we were.
Two of our tramping clan were in a car wreck and one was hospitalized. The other two thought we would contact our friendly crews on the Burlington-Rock Island about our hospitalized friend. The railroad men came through with flying colors with, not just one, but two get-well cards. What better way to deliver a get-well card than tossing it off a moving caboose?
This is just an example of the friendships that form when you watch trains and wave at railroad crews regularly. Those were great days.
The Lord answered our prayers and He restored the health of both our friends who were injured in the car wreck.

We are preserving railroad historical film, photos and stories in the decades 1950 to 1990. We would appreciate your "Like" and "Subscribe."
