1978 Rock Island Train Orders - Waxahachie, Texas
Train-order agent/operator transcribed train orders as dictated by train dispatcher, folded the orders (or flimsies as they were called because of the very thin paper that was easily copied by carbon sheets in-between each blank train order) put them on a hoop and handed a set to the engineer (head end) and conductor (caboose or rear-end of the train).
A commonplace practice in the 70's that will never return to the railroad operating department.
