Hayward Super Pump Repair - No Start, Buzzing

This is Part 1 of the repair of my Hayward Super Pump.

Before it went out, it was making loud noises. Probably a bad ball bearing. Here, I am simply replacing the capacitor to see if it will start.

The old capacitor was made in 2006. I assume that this applies to the entire motor as well. this means that this pump had a service life of about 14 years. Reviews of newer pumps (especially ones made in China) suggest that they only last between 1 to 5 years. That's really sad... they don't make things like they used to.

I also ordered a new motor (single speed, but more energy efficient), impeller, and seals. Even if the new capacitor fixes it, I know that this motor will eventually fail. I wanted to be prepared for when that happened, which turned out to be now lol.
