Johann Gottfried Piefke – Königgrätzer Marsch [Prussian march]

This famous march was composed by Johann Gottfried Piefke (1817-1884) to commemorate the Battle of Königgrätz (1866), in which the Kingdom of Prussia decisively defeated the Austrian Empire.
Performed by the Luftwaffenmusikkorps 2, led by Berthold Meyer.
The accompanying painting depicts Prussian king Wilhelm I congratulating crown prince Friedrich III after the Battle of Königgrätz. It was made by the German artist Emil Hünten (1827-1902).
