Henry Wood – Fantasia on British Sea Songs [British patriotic music]

This medley of British sea songs was composed in 1905 by the English conductor and composer Sir Henry Joseph Wood (1869-1944), to mark the centenary of the Battle of Trafalgar. Since then, it has become a part of the BBC's Last Night of the Proms concert.
Performed by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, led by Robin Stapleton.
The accompanying painting depicts the H.M.S. Bellerophon lying at anchor, with the defeated Emperor Napoleon onboard. It was made by the British artist Thomas Luny (1759-1837).
