‘Free speech warrior’ Elon Musk triggers ‘comprehensive freakout’ in Twitter’s blue tick class

Sky News host James Morrow says the blue tick class is experiencing a “total and comprehensive freakout” after Elon Musk offered to buy Twitter.

“You see, it seems Musk is threatening to turn the headquarters of the speech police Stasi, also known as Twitter, into a true open forum of ideas and debate, simply by buying it and taking it over,” he said.

“Pretty radical stuff, isn't it?

“Well, it is to the radical left, which is horrified at the thought that it might lose the opportunity to ban conservatives for saying hateful things like men can't have babies.”

Mr Morrow cited several examples of hyperbole including rhetoric from a “terrified” Twitter data scientist and a former US secretary of labour.

“All that is nothing compared to the blue tick class's total and comprehensive freakout that their favourite platform might allow people with deplorable viewpoints to challenge their own,” he said.

Mr Morrow’s remarks follow Mr Musk's offer to buy Twitter for $US43 billion after declining to join the company’s board.
