'Despair is not justified': Chris Kenny reminds us of how 'lucky' we are

Sky News host Chris Kenny gives a reminder about “how good the world is” and how lucky we are to be living right now, despite this seeming counterintuitive at times.

"The statistics just don’t lie – we are living longer, we are healthier, we are wealthier, and we are better educated than at any time in the history of the world," he said.

“And when I say we, I don't mean just us in this lucky country, I mean the global population, on world averages.

“Now I don't remind you of this to encourage complacency, of course not, we need to fix poverty around the world, we need peace where there is war, and we need to get rid of disadvantage, including in this country, especially in Indigenous communities.

“But despair is not justified."
