'Great hunger' for Coalition to rediscover what it should 'fight for': Canavan

Nationals Senator Matt Canavan says there is a “great hunger” for the Coalition to rediscover what it should fight for.

Mr Canavan spoke from the ARC Conference in London, which is kickstarting the conservative movement ‘Alliance for Responsible Citizenship’.

“We lost an election last year – I think at least in part because we departed from our basic principles, values and foundations,” Mr Canavan told Sky News host Andrew Bolt.

“And when you don’t jump off a solid foundation, you’re not going to go very far.

“So, if nothing else, I think this is hopefully putting some steel back in the spine of some of my colleagues, which we’ll bring back to Australia.”
