The Mysterious Yosemite Sam Transmission

The Yosemite Sam transmission was a radio transmission first heard on December 19, 2004. It was first heard on shortwave radio by DXers on shortwave radio. It was a possible numbers station that broadcasted on frequencies 3700 kHz, 4300 kHz, 6500 kHz and 10500 kHz. It broadcasted a weird data burst and then the voice from the cartoon character Yosemite Sam from Looney Tunes was heard saying "Varmint I'ma gonna blow you up ta smitereens!" In February 2005 two amateur radio operators from New Mexico claim to have tracked down location of where it broadcasted from. They said it was located to MATIC (Mobility Assessment Test & Integration Center) in a factory owned by Laguna Industries, located in a small town of Laguna, New Mexico about 50 miles southwest of Albuquerque. The pair took photographs of the towers and antennas but quickly fled as they were approached by a security guard yelling at them not to take any photos. Three hours later the Yosemite Sam broadcasts disappeared and haven't been heard since. To this day we still don't know what was the purpose of the broadcasts.

Here is a recording I downloaded and you can hear a weird data burst and the voice of Yosemite Sam saying "Varmint, I'ma gonna blow you up to smithereens!"
