How to Keep Your Standard Stratocaster Tremolo In Tune

You would think I would know this after all of these years but today I learned something. I've done just about everything in the past to try to keep my tremolo in tune. I love to dive bomb a`la Jimi Hendrix so it is imperative that it stays in tune. I always thought that it was the nut that was the problem with strings hanging up. Today I realized that the strings can also hang up on the bridge string saddles. My strings always form slight wear grooves on the tops of the saddles so I think this compounds the problem. I guess if you used some Graph Tech saddles that would also solve the problem but I don't like the way they sound. Try the lube that I just bought. I think it works fine. It is water thin so it penetrates anything and it dries almost instantly, leaving a thin film of Teflon.

Here is the link to the Dupont Teflon lubricant:

This is also a video from Fender Master Builder John Cruz that shows exactly what I do to my Strat saddles at every string change. I had been doing this for years on my own. I was glad to see a Fender guy was having the same issues as me. I think the dry lube may be a little cleaner and may last longer.
