Snorkelling the Southern Great Barrier Reef - Lady Musgrave Island
We absolutely love being in the water, especially Chan, if you let her she could spend an entire day exploring the depths of the ocean.
Our day kicked off at 8.30am with 1770 Reef tours, with 10/10 weather conditions we departed the terminal and made the 1.5-2hr journey to our destination, upon arriving we were greeted with crystal clear blue water and a stunning stretch of reef.
With this tour you have the option to pick your activities to your own desires. We opted to do the Island Tour, Glass Bottom Boat tour and finished the day Snorkelling the Reef for a few hours. If you don't want to explore the island you can opt for a full day of Snorkeling.
1770 Reefs provided all snorkeling gear (we brought our own masks) plus morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea.
The reef itself has an abundance of Marine life, especially turtles so don't jump out of the water until you get up close with one! We did spot one shark in the distance however he was gone in a matter of seconds and had no interest in swimming with the tourists!
This is a full day event we didn't return until about 5.30pm that afternoon so pack your towels, sunscreen, hats, plenty of water, swimmers and a dry set of clothes.
