A “one of a kind” bar and live entertainment venue that will not serve anything #alcoholic is coming to #Chelmsford.

The bar, named #Abstinence, will serve drinks, food and offer live music and comedy nights - but there won’t be a drop of alcohol on the premises.

Owner #WendySillett has been planning the venue for two years and is sure that she there isn’t another place like it in the UK, let alone Essex.

Although there are ‘sober cafes’ dotted around the country, it is thought this will be the first to offer dancing, DJs, live music and events in the evening.

It will also serve food through the day, and will have a large deli counter.

Abstinence will be in Fairfield Road, directly opposite the Civic Theatre in Chelmsford. It was previously AJ’s Coffee House and has stood empty for six years.
