Advancing with Watercolor: Robin Waits for Spring
This is a video done as a supplement to a watercolor class taught by Gary Tucker in Boston. This video illustrates the technique of working dry into wet. The video begins with a tonal rendering of the exercise then a 2 color rendering. The drill helps to understand paint consistency and its relation to lights and dark. Another benefit of this exercise is that the student begins to embrace challenge of timing and the condition of the paper..wet, damp, half dry ect.
work was done with 140lb cold pressed paper, b sienna and ult blue (a little cad red) and a small sable and large mop brush.
