A sustainable super fertilizer for the agriculture of the future

The genome of a bacterium has been modeled for the first time in order to turn it into a super natural fertilizer, able to combine multiple functions. The genetic transplantation technique was developed by the research group of the Biology Department coordinated by Alessio Mengoni and Marco Fondi, and was described in an article published on ACS Synthetic Biology, the journal of the American Chemical Society.
