Is The Landmark Forum A Cult? My 2 Year Later Review

I attended my first Landmark Forum event in Vancouver BC in the summer of 2019. I was a little skeptical when I first started looking into it. A couple of my friends recommended that I do it and so me being into personal development I thought it was worth a shot.
I was a little nervous cuz I wasn't looking to get brainwashed. Everything kind of looked like a cult from the outside. Actually, things seem pretty culty on the inside as well as I'm currently writing this, lol.
However, I think what it comes down to is a new model of living and sort of an ideal world that people can step into as a result of the forum. What I like is you get to try on different views, perspectives, and mindsets that you’re not used to seeing from a completely new perspective. You can even reframe some of the circumstances in your life, especially the most traumatic experiences in your life. You can turn the negative into positive and let it go completely.
What I like about it is that it's not a religious organization. Most of the people within Landmark are there by referrals. They don't spend money on marketing but they do get everybody to tell the important people in their lives about the Forum so they can show up and get a transformation as well. In a way, it's like network marketing or multi-level marketing and so I think that gives it a bad wrap as well. That being said, the people who invite their friends and family are in no way compensated for doing so, they are strictly recommending it as a means to build connection and enhance that person's life.
I have a lot of positive things to say about the Forum, even more so than negative. I actually had a very amazing transformation especially when it came to being more authentic. Landmark encourages people to step into their own personal power in a very direct way. By getting authentic with the world and with people where you've been inauthentic. In my experience, it's only brought me closer to people in my relationships, in my business endeavours, and with myself.
It's always good to take these things with a grain of salt and a healthy sense of skepticism. Anything that messes with your mind you should be cautious. However, if you are living life in a way that you aren't fulfilled, have a negative mindset, or disempowered. Then perhaps you could use Landmark to open up your mind to a new way of thinking and being. So one of the things that I like is that Landmark is all about possibility. The beautiful thing about possibility is you can create anything out of possibility without the restrictions of limiting beliefs.
I grew up with so many limiting beliefs and how the world was and who I could be and what I could achieve, not by any fault of anyone else but just because of ‘being realistic.’ landmark gets you to dream bigger than you have, so you can create the things that you don't have.
In conclusion, I think Landmark is one of the best personal development programs that I've done. I like referring friends and family to it, although they can be a little pushy to get you to sign up for the program, it's because they really care about getting people living their best lives. Another thing is the volunteers at Landmark don't get paid. The only people who are paid or the full-time seminar leaders. I like that because it means that most people are there because they want to be and not because they think it's a job. At no point do you think anybody just doing this for money because there's no incentive in it. They only want to see you succeed and become the strongest and most real version of yourself. So I really like that part.
