How to Start Your Growth Path (aka Personal Legend - Paulo Coelho)

I feel as though every person at some point in their life recognizes that they are on a journey. For one reason or another, we were given a shot at life, and it’s my belief that it is our responsibility to figure out why. My growth path AKA my Personal Legend (as my favourite author Paulo Cohelo puts it) started when I was 18 and just graduating high school.

I had got accepted into a local university yet had no idea what I wanted to do with my life. I figured I’d do something business-related and decided to take a program around that. Little did I know that would be the start of what’s been a bumpy, yet epic and an irreplaceable journey that I’ve got to share with others along the way. I think when you set the intention to set your life in a certain direction, and remain open to sources greater than yourself such as God to guide you through, little pieces of magic and serendipities arise that could hardly be imagined or predicted to help you get there.

Not every generation before us has had the luxury of ability and even the same kind of opportunity that is afforded to us with wifi and internet to even be on YouTube. Starting your growth path journey can seem daunting, but don’t get caught up in analysis paralysis. Just lean towards the edge of your comfort zone and take the first step in the direction of your goals or dream life.

A few easy ways to stay in alignment while on this personal mission is to read books and find people knowledgeable in the area you are trying to learn. There are so many people and resources talking on almost any subject that all you have to do is research at your fingertips. Another great option is travel. Expand your sense of adventure by visiting places completely different than the ones you are used to. This doesn’t even need to be international, it can simply be moving to a place outside your hometown.
