A523 - Macclesfield to Bosley

The A523 is a former trunk road running for about 32 miles/51km from the A6 at Hazel Grove, south east of Stockport, to the A52 west of Ashbourne in Derbyshire, via the towns of Poynton, Macclesfield and Leek, skirting the edge of the Peak District National Park. Most of the road is of fairly wide single carriageway status, with some dual carriageway around Macclesfield called "The Silk Road", after the former major industry in the town. The other major improvement has been the Poynton Bypass opened in 2023.

This video shows a southbound journey along the A523, from the A537 junction in Macclesfield town centre, to the Bosley Crossroads with the A54.
