It is rarely that a series of restorations on this channel generates the glowing praise and commentary as this series of Brahms performances with the Philharmonia. It is not, however, surprising. The concerts in this series are legendary, and the reviews over the past seventy years have been consistent in their appraisal of Toscanini's artistry with this music.
