It’s time Daniel Andrews ‘gets out and stops running us into the ground’: Paul Dimattina
AFL great and hotel owner Paul Dimattina has derided Melbourne’s new normal of “getting lied to every single day” and has called for Daniel Andrews to “get out of our state and stop running us into the ground”.
It comes as Premier Daniel Andrews announced there will be no major easing of restrictions for Melbourne after the state recorded seven new cases and no deaths in the last 24 hours.
Mr Dimattina said the announcement is “just a new norm for us” and criticised the Andrews government for its lies and the “rubbish that they talk”.
The Andrews government previously indicated hospitality and retail would reopen once Melbourne’s rolling 14-day daily case average was five or below.
However, Melburnians faced disappointment on Sunday when the premier declared no new restrictions would be eased.
“Enough is enough, I said the bloke should go, it’s time he puts his hand up and gets out of our state and stops running us into the ground,” Mr Dimattina said.
“We got told that roadmap out, we had to achieve the targets that have been achieved, yet we’re still closed another lie, another lie, another false promise it’s just got to stop.
“Get rid of him and all those around him”.
Premier Andrews said all week Melburnians could expect an easing of restrictions, but on Sunday pointed to over 1,000 tests which are still in the lab from a cluster in Melbourne’s north as to why there needed to be a “cautious pause”.
“We’ve been on a cautious pause and a cautious lockdown for three months how much longer do we have to suffer,” Mr Dimattina said.
“How much longer do we need to be put in a jail cell for a crime we didn’t commit.
“Dan you’re not honest mate, you’re a liar.”
