Final debate designed to be ‘comfortable ground’ for Biden

Foreign policy is such an “unalloyed success” of the Trump administration which is why the final debate covered topics which were “a bit more comfortable” for Joe Biden, according to Sky News host James Morrow.

“The debate held on Friday (Australian time) was supposed to be the foreign policy debate, but because foreign policy is such an unalloyed success of this administration, they said ‘no we’ll make it about other things,” Mr Morrow said.

The final presidential debate between Donald Trump and Joe Biden covered six topics including the economy, COVID-19 response, race, and leadership.

It comes as the president has once again brokered another deal normalising diplomatic relations with Israel, this time with Sudan, after already securing deals between Israel and the UAE, and Bahrain.

Mr Morrow said the debate commission clearly wanted to steer the debate around foreign policy towards “ground that Joe Biden might find a bit more comfortable to be on”.
