Even George Orwell would find Victoria’s latest measure ‘too horrific’

Sky News host Rowan Dean says Daniel Andrews was caught “boasting about the latest totalitarian measure” in Victoria which even George Orwell would “find too horrific”.

“Drones over your barbie (barbecue) this AFL weekend,” he said.

During the AFL Grand Final weekend, the Andrews government was reportedly sending out drones to monitor people and ensure nobody was breaking COVID-19 restrictions placed on the city.

The offence carries with it an up to $5,000 fine.

Sky News host James Morrow said George Orwell’s famed novel ‘1984’ was written as a "warning not an instruction manual.”
