LIVE: People protest outside Belarusian embassy in Moscow

People gather outside the Belarusian Embassy in Moscow on Monday, August 10, to protest against the preliminary results of the Belarusian presidential election.

The preliminary results show incumbent President Alexander Lukashenko won the election with more than 80 percent of the vote, according to the Belarus Central Election Commission. His main challenger Svetlana Tikhanovskaya received 9.9 percent.

Around 3,000 people protesting the election were arrested in Belarus on Sunday, according to the country’s interior ministry.
