Woman 1: So correct me if I'm wrong. Does hunger has anything to do with the size of your stomach, or is it just because of the ghrelin hormone in your stomach?

Dr. Marvin: A number of factors, so, the actual volume of the stomach doesn't correlate with obesity that well. So we can't say if you were born with a bigger stomach you're gonna be obese later on. What we can say is that if we put device like this in there, that there's gonna be less space and your feeling of satiety is gonna be...occur much sooner. And then if you can use that feeling of satiety then, that what decreases your hunger, makes it go away.
