Woman 1: I have one other question. Do you get the dumping syndrome with this?

Dr. Marvin: You should not. If anything, it probably slows gastric emptying a little bit. So, dumping's where something with high osmolarity, like a high sugar meal, gets into the small intestine very quickly. And that's why gastric bypass patients are real subject to it, because it transitions through the little pouch into the roolem and then they get dumping. Right. Sleeve patients usually don't, or if they get it, it's really mild. So I would think balloon patients logically shouldn't get it at all.
