Woman 1: Are you finding that the insurance companies are paying for this if you fit the criteria?

Dr. Marvin: No. Right now the insurance companies are not paying for this, and this is a typical, sort of a typical pathway for all this stuff. It gets FDA approved before any of the insurance companies will pick it up. So, what'll happen is, sometimes Medicare and Medicaid ID something as being helpful, aka saving them money over the long run. So, they'll adopt it then insurance companies will follow right after that. Or, as in the case of the sleeve, it was an alternative to something else that probably costs the insurance companies a lot more, and they jumped on the sleeve bandwagon pretty quickly. But there's always a delay between FDA approval and the insurance companies, you know, adding this stuff in.
