C1 Shear Mobilization
Do you have limited neck mobility? You may need this mobilization!
The upper cervical spine is an absolutely essential area of the neck to manage with any patient who has headaches with neck pain, whiplash injuries, concussions, nerve tension, etc.
In this video, Travis introduces the concept of shearing or gliding C1 (The 1st Cervical Vertebra) on the head/cranium. Shearing involves the combined motion of rotation and sidebending needed for efficiency in this area.
There are many ways to improve mobility of this area but we have found the C1 Shear Mobilization to be very effective for our patients!
