Testing for Hypofunction in the Vestibular System-A Physical Therapist Explains
Have you ever been told that your inner ear is weak? This is a doctors way of trying to say that you have a weakness on one side of your vestibular system, either the right side or the left side. The head thrust test, or head impulse test, is the gold standard test used to determine the weaker side. Once this is identified your therapist can perscribe exercises to help strengthen your vestibular system.
