THE MYSTERIES OF LAURA: "The Mystery of the Art Ace" - 10/29/2014, NBC

Max Jenkins as the gay regular - the sidekick, intern, research-whiz Max - on Debra Messing's 2014-2016 cop series. The guy's a fun if stereotyped character, a trust-fund kid who's a fountain of information.

Some critics complained he was a stereotype, but he definitely reminds me of some gay guys I've known over the years. And there are such diverse queer portrayals now, so just enjoy any good character that comes along.

The show was based on the long-running Spanish series of the same title, which (if I recall the original right) had no similar character.
